Today I’m going to tell you how our yoga teacher training came about. The birthplace of Ascher Yoga teacher training is, how could it be otherwise? India. And this is how it came about.
This year in February I led a trip through South India together with Ameya.
For the participants, it was also a journey inwards. In addition to daily yoga, we also studied Indian philosophy and high consciousness intensively.
We visited my three favorite places: Kerala to go on a houseboat tour on the backwaters, Tiruvanamalai, one of the holiest places in India, to meditate in the Rama Maharishi Ashram, and Auroville to experience the atmosphere of Sri Aurobindo and visit the impressive Matrimandir.
On this trip, I felt that I would like to return to my former profession of training yoga teachers.
I had lived in yoga ashrams for four years and trained many yoga and meditation teachers. On the penultimate day of the trip, I discovered the Quiet Healing Center in Auroville by chance.
As soon as I entered the place, it was clear to me: this is where I will offer a yoga teacher training course.
I tried to find a suitable period with the operators of the center. After a long back and forth, Abinash finally said “Atscha!” Anyone who knows India also knows what “atscha” means – “okay, good, agreed”.
So on this day the “Atscha Yoga Teacher Training” was born. But how should I incorporate my other favorite place into the training?
If only we could be in both places! My flight home was imminent, so I left India with “just” the reservation for the fantastic center.
Back on La Palma, I immediately contacted Gopi, the friendly founder of the Anantha Niketan Ashram in Tiru. As is the case when everything is in flow – my desired period was still available. I wrote to Abinash and shortened the reservation by half the time.
There is now a special yoga teacher training course at two wonderful locations – it couldn’t be better!
This experience shows how important it is to follow your heart’s desires and be open to new opportunities. When we pursue our passions, doors often open that we could never have imagined before.
The combination of deep immersion in yoga practice and experiencing the spiritual places of India creates a unique training experience. It is a journey to yourself that goes far beyond the teaching of yoga techniques.
The participants of the Atscha Yoga Teacher Training can look forward to a transformative time that will enrich both their yoga practice and their personal development.
